A Sea in the Desert

Yonder I in the desert,

Feeling lost and cold.

Worn-dried as baked stone,

Onward I with will.

Up and down dune-hills,

Escaping heat in their shades,

Shifting side to sides,

In freezing cold night.

My quest spurs me;

As jabs in horse’s flanks.

From trots to gallops,

Clearing abyss in a leap.

Towards unseen beaches,

Rising and falling tides,

Salty taste of breeze,

A sea in a desert.
